Welcome to The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Edgeworth
(Herein referred to as Edgeworth Water Authority)
The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Edgeworth is committed to providing its customers with a safe, high quality, reliable water supply that meets or exceeds all applicable Local, State and Federal regulations in a cost effective and efficient manner. Imperative to these commitments are the safety of our employees and the communities we serve, courteous professional service and convenience for our customers, and the fiscal integrity of the authority.
Edgeworth Water Authority was created by the Council of the Borough of Edgeworth on September 10, 1956. We furnish water service to a general service area including the Boroughs of Edgeworth, Leetsdale, Bell Acres and Leet Township.
As many of you are aware, the water provided to customers of the Edgeworth Municipal Authority is purchased in bulk from the Ambridge Water Authority(AWA). The proposed Falcon pipeline, an ethane pipeline that will feed Shell's proposed petrochemical "cracker" plant in Beaver County, will not be on AWA property, but will in some sections be within the AWA watershed.
We have made known our objections to this project see below.
